L'Oreal L'Extraordinaire Liquid Lipsticks |
Oh how I love these! When I first spotted these L'Oreal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche liquid lipsticks a couple of weeks ago, I hadn't heard any hype or seen any reviews. They just called to me and I bought a couple straight away.
I love a natural coloured lipstick and when going for this kind of shade I prefer a moisturising glossy finish. For me, dark or bright colours are best matte and neutral or nude shades are best glossy. The L'Oreal Extraordinaire lip colours come a range of shades which include bright pinks and reds, but what I really like is the range of nude and more natural shades. These are often overlooked in new releases - but not this time!
The formula of the L'Oreal Extraordinaire is a creamy, gel-like gloss. The lid unscrews to show a doe-foot applicator wand to apply the colour directly to your lips. It feels moisturising but not sticky. Colour can be built up to more of an opaque colour but it gives a really natural effect - in the more natural shades anyway. What I really love is the apricot / passion-fruit fragrance! It smells really fresh rather than synthetic and I like it.

Today I picked up another shade so now I have four. The shades I have are Nude Ballet, Nude Vibrato, Rose Melody and Molto Mauve. The nude shade Nude Ballet goes perfectly with a smokey eye. Nude Vibrato is similar but has more of a peach tone (similar to MAC's Fresh and Frisky Huggable Lip Colour - see my review HERE). Rose Melody is a natural pink, which looks great paired with my Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette (see my pictures HERE). Finally I love Molto Mauve, which I think is more of a dusky pink than a mauve.

It is so rare for me to find so many wearable shades from one product, so these have been a real find for me! Obviously Boot's 3 for 2 offer helped me out too...
The wear time of the L'Oreal Extraordinaire isn't bad for a gloss type product. It won't withstand eating or drinking, but the gel formula does give more lasting power than a regular gloss. To keep it looking great you will need to reapply every few hours, but it does leave a really moisturising feel to your lips so they don't feel bare as soon as the colour fades.

These are definitely one of my current favourites both for the colour and formula. I should point out that unlike the L'Oreal Glamshine Stain Splashes, these have no stain and are purely gloss. Aside from the stain, they are similar in look and feel to the YSL Glossy Stains - which as L'Oreal owns YSL this is no surprise!
The L'Oreal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche Liquid Lipsticks are £8.99 HERE.
